Our History!

The Club was initially formed by twenty local business men in the autumn of 1893 as a "gentlemen's bowling club" - to be known as Seedfield Bowling Club Company Limited. The pavillion, which exists to this day, was formally opened on 27th March 1894 followed on Friday 13th July 1894 by the opening of the bowling green.

The history of the club has been recorded in a couple of Bury Times articles during 1982 and 1993.

On Friday 19th November 1993, to celebrate the Club's centenary, the Bury Times published the articles and pictures opposite and below under the headline of:

"Bowling club which offers a bit more celebrates it's centenary"

Prior to that, on Friday 28th March 1982, they published the picture below that dates back to 1924!
